Jim Reid of Royal LePage Your Community Realty is pleased to introduce you to a very unique family lifestyle in the clear clean air overlooking the vibrant metropolis of Toronto. Richmond Hill is located on the Oak Ridges Morraine, a high ridge running across the North edge of Toronto.
The Mill Pond community is bounded by Yonge St., Major Mackenzie, Bathurst and Elgin Mills.
Please enjoy this brief video that depicts the architectural diversity and lifestyle ambiance of living in the Mill Pond neighbourhoods of central Richmond Hill.
Jim Reid lives in this delightful mature wooded area with its' ten parks, Montessory Daycare, Mill Pond Artists Gallery, community centre, live theatre, Satya Yoga Centre, bike paths, local restaurants and pubs and full shopping conveniences.
Jim's son learned to play hockey on the frozen Mill Pond and became an expert snowboarder and mountain biker on its slopes and forest trails. His daughter enjoyed learning skating, gymnastics, dressage, basketball, soccer and became an accomplished Ballerina through local facilities and coaches.
Culturally, this area is english speaking with neighbours mainly of British, Italian, Greek or Jewish decent accounting for 70% of the families. Many homeowners are professionals, own their own businesses, or hold senior positions in the private or public sectors.
Every February, Winter Carnival is celebrated on the frozen Mill Pond with kids partaking in races, poney rides, games, a hockey tournament, snowboard acrobatics, skydivers and a battle of the bands. From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, thousands of locals gather at the Mill Pond.
Summers include "Concerts in the Park" on Thursday evenings, lunch hour BBQ's, charity mini-marathons, family walks in the park, and even some dedicated fishermen. The local painters often feature their art in the small gallery. It is common to find a local street closed off as neighbours gather for a hot summer's evening street party. Some of the best Garage Sale deals are picked up on Saturday mornings.
Everyone here is about 5 minutes from Express buses or trains into the city. The major expressways: 404, 407, and 400 are only a few brief minutes away. Our 4 or 5 car traffic jams occur only in the Spring when the Mill Pond baby geese and ducks saunter across Mill St. to feed on the nearby lawns.
Perhaps this isn't paradise, but it must be close!
